Mangaluru : D.K. District MP Captain Brijesh Chowta stated that 65% of our country’s population is youth, and their time should be invested in nation-building, not misused, as misuse would be detrimental to the country. He opined that for the youth’s energy to be harnessed and for them to live a life of self-respect, the affluent must come forward to encourage education and moral instruction. He praised the service of Shriram Finance for allocating a portion of its business to education.
He was speaking after inaugurating the scholarship distribution program organized by Shriram Finance, Mangalore, at Kudmal Rangarav Pura Bhavana, where scholarships were given to over 1000 students.
The event was inaugurated by Umesh G. Revankar, Executive Vice-Chairman of Shriram Finance. He said that for the past 13 years, Shriram Finance has been providing scholarships of ₹4000 to high school students and ₹4500 to college students. A single student receives this scholarship every year for 5 consecutive years, which helps instill a desire to learn in every district.
Sudharshan B. Holla, Joint Managing Director of Shriram, presided over the event. The chief guests were Mangalore South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, MLC Kishore Kumar Puttur, Shriram Finance Executive Director Sridhar Muttam, President Sharath Chandra Bhat Kakunje, Kanchana Motors Managing Director Prasad Kanchan, Daijiworld Channel’s Walter Nandalike, Karnataka Agencies’ Santhosh Rodrigues, Sharada Vidyaganapathi School’s convener Rajaram Bhat, film actress Poornima S. Naik, former President of Mysore Electric Santhosh Rai Boliyar, Bar Association President Raghavendra H.V., Taximen’s Association’s Anand, Lions Club’s Dr. G.R. Shetty, West Coast Motors Managing Director Mohammad Rafeeq, Arvind Motors Managing Director Uday M, and Durga Motors’ Uday Naik.
