Manjeshwara : The sudden and heartbreaking death of Haris, a 39-year-old, resident of Thuminadu, near Manjeshwar, has stunned his hometown following a fatal road accident in Doha, Qatar. Haris, son of Aboobacker (Abbuccha) and a resident of Hill Top Nagar, was a long-time taxi driver who had recently returned to Qatar after a brief visit home in Kerala.
Fatal Incident While Fixing a Puncture
The fatal incident occurred on Sunday, around 3 pm Qatar time. Haris’s taxi suffered a puncture, and as he was fixing it on the roadside with the help of a Bangladeshi national, an ambulance reportedly rammed into them. Both men suffered severe injuries and tragically died while being rushed to the hospital.
A Man Known for Humble Generosity
Haris’s loss is acutely felt in his hometown, not just by his family but by the entire community, who revered him for his quiet philanthropy. Despite his modest means as a migrant worker, he regularly donated a portion of his income to support the disadvantaged. Local residents testified that his money often went to orphanages, old age homes, education for underprivileged children, and patients in need.
Embodiment of Selfless Giving
“He believed in helping others without seeking recognition,” said a local resident. Haris was known for embodying the adage, “Let not the left hand know what the right hand gives,” carrying out his charitable work without publicity or social media fanfare. His consistent, silent support for the disadvantaged has left a lasting void.
Repatriation Efforts Underway
Haris’s untimely death at just 39 has devastated his family. According to family sources, arrangements are currently being made to repatriate his body back to Thuminadu for the final rites. The community mourns the loss of a devoted son who lived humbly and gave selflessly.
