Mumbai: Tulu Sangha is an organization that brings all Tuluvas together irrespective of caste and religion. At this time when divisions based on caste and religion are isolating people, organizations like the Tulu Sangha become especially significant. Our Tulu culture is calling us back. Unknowingly, we are drifting from our traditions in the name of modernization. While embracing modernity, it is our responsibility also to preserve our rich heritage, said Dr. Bharat Kumar Polipu, President of Karnataka Sangha Mumbai and a renowned theatre director.
The “Aatid Onji Koota” program organized by Tulu Sangha, Borivali, was held on August 3rd under the presidentship of President Harish Maindan, at Adinath Digambar Jain Temple Trust, Dharma Nagar, Borivali West, Mumbai. In the past, joint family systems prevailed, and instances of depression or suicide among youth were rare. Hence, events like Aatid Koota, held annually, help instill values of respect towards elders in future generations. He stated that negative thinking must shift to positivity and appreciated Tulu Sangha for enabling such change.
