Mangaluru : In a targeted operation against drug abuse, excise officials in Mangaluru arrested two individuals on Tuesday for the consumption of the synthetic drug MDMA. The raid took place near K.C. Road in Talapady, where the accused, identified as Nishadh (son of Abdul Karim) and Ahmed Imran (son of Abdul Hakeem), were caught in the act. Following their detention, a formal case was registered against the duo by the authorities as part of an ongoing crackdown on narcotics in the border region.
The successful operation was conducted under the leadership of Excise Deputy Superintendent Gayatri C.H. The enforcement team also included Excise Inspector Dattaguru and Sub-Inspector Harish, who played key roles in the raid. According to an official statement from the Excise Department, the department remains committed to monitoring and curbing the illegal use of psychotropic substances to ensure public safety and maintain law and order in the district.
