Udupi : In a heart-wrenching incident, a one-and-a-half-year-old child died after accidentally falling into a well at Kinnimulki in Udupi. The tragedy occurred while the mother was drawing water from a well near their residence while holding the child in her arms.
The Tragic Accident: The mishap took place in a split second when the child reportedly slipped from the mother’s grasp and fell into the deep well. Horrified by the sight, the mother immediately demonstrated immense courage by descending into the well with the help of a rope to rescue her baby.
Valiant Rescue Effort Fails: Despite her swift and heroic efforts to pull the child out of the water, it was unfortunately too late. The toddler had already breathed its last by the time it was brought to the surface. The sudden loss has left the family and the local neighborhood in deep mourning.
Police Inspection: Upon receiving information about the incident, PSI Bharathesh Kankanawadi from the Udupi City Police Station visited the spot and conducted an initial investigation. A case has been noted regarding the accidental death.
