Mumbai : The five-day Brahmakalashotsava celebrations at the Sasihithlu Shri Bhagavathi Temple concluded on a high note, marking a significant moment of communal harmony and spiritual fervor. Presiding over the religious meet on the final day, Nalin Kumar Kateel, President of the Brahmakalashotsava Committee, lauded the Thiya community for its leadership in bringing all sections of society together. He remarked that the seamless execution of the massive event was a testament to the “Matru Shakti” (motherly power) of Goddess Bhagavathi and the selfless dedication of hundreds of volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure the festival’s success.
The event saw the participation of prominent political and social leaders, including Mangaluru North MLA Dr. Bharath Shetty Y, Sullia MLA Bhagirathi Murulya, and Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarn, among others. The speakers emphasized how the temple has become a focal point for preserving regional culture and fostering a sense of brotherhood. The Administrative Trustee, Chandrashekhar Belchada of Gampamane Kateel, shared his journey of overseeing the temple’s renovation in a short span, attributing the successful completion of the works to the collective support of donors and the divine will of the deity.
The concluding day was packed with traditional rituals, including the Chandika Yaga and the sacred Brahmakalashabhisheka led by Vedamurthi Shripathi Bhat and Venkatesh Tantri. The evening was highlighted by a unique “Gangege Nudi Namana” by orator Chakravarthy Sulibele on the seashore, followed by a spectacular “Gangarthi” and devotional musical performances. With over 65,000 devotees visiting the shrine during the festivities, the event successfully showcased the rich religious heritage of the coastal region and the unwavering faith of the local community.
