Mangaluru : The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal units in Mangaluru have strongly condemned the recent alleged ‘Love Jihad’ case reported at a gym in Hubballi-Dharwad. Speaking on the matter, VHP leader Pradeep Saripalla stated that the organization had issued several warnings regarding such incidents in the past, but lamented that these concerns were not taken seriously by the authorities or the public. He pointed out that a similar incident had recently occurred in the Surathkal area of Mangaluru, indicating a worrying pattern.
In light of these recurring incidents, the VHP leader has demanded that all such cases be handed over to a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for a thorough and impartial inquiry. He expressed concern over the safety of women in fitness centers, noting that Mangaluru also has numerous gyms employing Muslim trainers. He urged the government to monitor these establishments closely to prevent any exploitation or communal tensions arising from such interactions.
Furthermore, Pradeep Saripalla issued a direct appeal to young women and their parents to exercise extreme caution. He advised parents to verify the background of trainers and the environment of the fitness centers before enrolling. He emphasized that vigilance at the family level is crucial to ensure that gyms remain spaces for physical health rather than becoming hubs for alleged religious conversion or entrapment.
