Mangaluru : Vijaya Karnataka senior reporter Vijaya Kotian Padu has been selected for the “Brand Mangaluru” award given by the D.K. District Working Journalists Association for reports that reflect harmony.
The award was given for the report titled “Asif, gave a boost to the tiger costume” published in the Vijaya Karnataka newspaper on October 2, 2024.
The award includes Rs. 5,001, a certificate and a memento. CCRB ACP Geeta Kulkarni, senior journalist Jaideep Shenoy, and journalism lecturer Guruprasad were the judges of the Brand Mangaluru Award, said Jitendra Kundeshwar, general secretary of the D.K. District Working Journalists Association, in a press release.
Introduction : He entered journalism through Hosadigantha and has been working in Vijaya Karnataka for 20 years.
2019-20 P.Go. Award, B.S. Venkataram State Award for drug-related scoop report at the Journalists’ State Conference held in Kalaburagi in 2022, and the prestigious `Abhimani Datti Award’ given by the Karnataka Media Academy.
He is the son of Gopal Poojary and Kamala couple of Bondanthil village, Neermarga Padu.
Award presentation ceremony : Mangalore Police Commissioner Sudhir Kumar Reddy will present the award ceremony at Patrika Bhawan on June 25 at 11 am.
District Working Journalists’ Association President Srinivas Nayak Indaje will preside. Press Club President P.B. Harish Rai and Patrika Bhavan Trust President Ramakrishna R. will be present.
