Vittla : A shocking incident of violence occurred within the premises of a private college under the Vitla police station limits on February 11, when a trivial dispute between classmates escalated into a stabbing. Hemanth (19) and a minor student, who were reportedly friends, engaged in a heated verbal exchange that quickly turned physical. In a fit of rage, Hemanth allegedly used a penknife he was carrying to stab the minor student in the back, causing significant injuries.
As the altercation unfolded, another minor student attempted to intervene and stop the fight. However, he also sustained minor injuries during the struggle. Both injured students were immediately rushed to a local hospital for medical attention. According to the latest reports, they are currently out of danger and recovering from the ordeal. The incident has caused a wave of concern among the student community and parents regarding safety within educational institutions.
Following the attack, the Vitla police arrived at the scene and took Hemanth into custody. A formal case has been registered under Crime No. 32/2026, invoking sections 115(1), 352, 109, and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The authorities have confirmed that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the dispute and ensure appropriate legal action is taken against the accused.
