Mangaluru : AICC President and veteran politician Mallikarjun Kharge officially took his oath of office as a newly elected member of the Rajya Sabha today at the Vice President’s office. Kharge, who commands vast experience in Indian parliamentary politics, marked this significant political milestone in the national capital, surrounded by top leadership and prominent party dignitaries.
The structured swearing-in ceremony was graced by UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Member of Parliament Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, both of whom personally congratulated Kharge on his new tenure. Kharge’s wife, Radha Bai, was also present at the venue, sharing the special moment with her family.
The event held particular significance for Karnataka’s political circles as KPCC Working President and MLC Manjunath Bhandari attended the ceremony to extend warm wishes and congratulations on behalf of the Karnataka state Congress unit.
The high-profile gathering also saw the participation of AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal and Rajya Sabha MP Nasir Hussain, alongside several other senior party leaders. Expressing strong confidence, the attending leaders noted that Kharge’s extensive parliamentary expertise will further strengthen the party’s voice and leadership in the Upper House in the coming days.
