Woman Arrested for Video Blackmail; Also Accused of Honey Trap in Suicide Case

Mangaluru : Mangaluru police have arrested a young woman named Niriksha on serious charges of blackmail. Niriksha, who hails from Chikkamagaluru and was residing in a rented house in Kankanady, Mangaluru, is accused of secretly recording a video of another young woman changing clothes and subsequently using the footage to blackmail her. The case was registered at the Kadri Police Station in Mangaluru. Following her arrest on Sunday (October 19), she was presented before a judge and has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody.

The accused’s name has also surfaced in a separate, high-profile case. Niriksha is allegedly connected to the recent suicide of Abhishek Acharya of Nitte, Karkala, where accusations of a ‘honey trap’ were raised against her. Furthermore, the death note left by Abhishek Acharya, who took his own life in Belman, reportedly named Niriksha along with other individuals. Following these revelations, there was significant public outcry and a strong demand for her arrest on social media platforms. The police are continuing their investigation into both the blackmail case and her alleged role in the circumstances leading to the suicide.
