Chamarajanagar: A woman was killed and a youth was seriously injured in the Bedaguli zone of the Biligirirangana Betta Tiger Reserve Forest in Chamarajanagar taluk on Tuesday.
The deceased woman has been identified as Bedaguli Rangamma and the injured youth as Ramayyana Podiya Ravi.
Rangamma, who had gone out for a walk this morning, was attacked and killed by a tiger.
On Monday night, a tiger attacked Ravi while he was returning to House. Hearing his screams, locals rushed to his aid and chased the tiger away.
Ravi suffered injuries to his head, hands and legs in the tiger attack. He has been admitted to the Chamarajanagar Government Hospital.
Fortunately, Ravi escaped unhurt. Forest Department personnel visited the spot and inspected the scene.
BRT Deputy Conservator of Forests BS Sripathy said that the tiger that attacked Ravi and Rangamma was the same and was captured through an operation.
