Mangaluru : Acting on credible and precise intelligence, the Pandeshwar police on Tuesday arrested a 27-year-old man identified as Sushan Poojary, a resident of Car Street, for his alleged involvement in peddling the banned narcotic substance MDMA. The accused was reportedly operating within the city limits, specifically targeting the general public and college students. This arrest comes as a direct continuation of an ongoing investigation into a larger drug trafficking network operating across the coastal city.
Previously, the Mangaluru City Crime Branch (CCB) police had made a breakthrough in the same case on June 6 by arresting Pranam Kotian, a 30-year-old resident of Hoigebazar. Following intense interrogation, Kotian spilled vital information regarding his associates, which directly led the Pandeshwar police to track down and apprehend Sushan Poojary. The police have produced the newly arrested accused before the local court, and according to an official department release, investigators will now seek police custody of Poojary to subject him to further interrogation and uncover the wider network of suppliers.
