Dharmasthala : India’s rising badminton prodigy, Ayush Shetty, who recently clinched the prestigious Thomas Cup and secured a silver medal at the 2026 Asian Badminton Championship, visited the holy pilgrimage town of Dharmasthala on Sunday. Accompanied by his family, the young athlete met with the revered Dharmadhikari, Poojya Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, at his residence to seek his divine blessings. Following the meeting, the sports icon and his family visited the Lord Manjunatha Swamy temple to perform special prayers and offer their devotion.
During the interaction, Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade highly commended Ayush Shetty for elevating Karnataka’s pride on both national and global sporting platforms. Appreciating his rigorous dedication and remarkable milestone achievements, Dr. Heggade extended his heartfelt congratulations and warmly wished the badminton star continued success, urging him to bring more laurels to the nation in upcoming international tournaments.

Shetty, the personal secretary to Dr. Veerendra Heggade, and Santhosh, a physical education instructor from the SDM English Medium School in Ujire, who gathered to celebrate the young champion’s homecoming success.
