Mangaluru : A 21-year-old youth, identified as Kaushik, tragically ended his life by jumping into the Shambhavi River from the Gurupura bridge on Wednesday evening. Kaushik, who earned his living working as a bus agent and conductor, reportedly rode his scooter to the bridge and left it parked there before leaping into the water. The discovery of the abandoned scooter on the bridge first raised suspicions, leading to an immediate alert.
Following the incident, a search operation was launched to locate him. After a period of intense searching, the youth’s body was eventually recovered from the Shambhavi River, a short distance away from where he had jumped. Local authorities managed to retrieve the remains, which have since been shifted for further procedures.
The exact reason behind Kaushik’s decision to take this extreme step remains unknown at this stage. The police are investigating the matter to uncover the motives behind the suicide. The sudden death of the young conductor has left his colleagues and family in a state of deep shock and grief.
