Surathkal : The Youth Congress Mangaluru North unit organized a large-scale torchlight procession and protest meeting on Wednesday evening, led by KPCC General Secretary Inayat Ali. The demonstration was held to protest the recent act of vandalism in Delhi and the alleged widespread ‘Vote Chori’ (vote theft) across the country. The procession marched from Krishnapura Cross to Suratkal Market.
Addressing the gathering, Inayat Ali strongly condemned the BJP for allegedly adopting unethical means to gain power in the country. He claimed that evidence of vote theft has already been exposed, with instances of voting being carried out multiple times under a single name. He specifically cited an example from Haryana, where a Brazilian model’s photograph was purportedly used for voting in over 22 locations. He further alleged that vote theft was the primary reason the BJP came to power in Bihar and highlighted the central government’s visible inaction regarding the vandalism in Delhi. Ali warned that widespread protests against the central government would be organized in the coming days.
Nigam Bhandari, National In-Charge, stated that the time has come to put an end to the ‘Vote Chori’ witnessed in Bihar. He emphasized that voting determines the country’s future, but votes cast for the Congress party are allegedly being transferred to other parties. He urged everyone to unite and prevent this manipulation.
Speaking on the issue, Padmaraj R. remarked that the occurrence of vandalism in Delhi just a day before the final phase of voting in Bihar speaks volumes, suggesting a conspiracy where the involvement of certain entities is clear. He criticized the central government, stating that despite major investigating agencies and intelligence departments being under its control, such acts of destruction are not being curbed. He accused the BJP of using ‘Vote Chori’ as a weapon to gain control in the Bihar elections. Padmaraj called for nationwide protests and struggles against this vote theft and urged supporters to stand firmly with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
The event was attended by Youth Congress State President Manjunath Gowda, along with Kalyan Tejas, Ibrahim Nawaz, Purushottam Chitrapura, Sadashiva Shetty, Anil, Bahubali, and others. Rehman Khan Kunjattabail anchored the programme, and Suratkal Block Congress President Purushottam Chitrapura delivered the vote of thanks.
