Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar received a grand traditional reception upon his arrival at the historic Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple in Mangaluru. The temple management extended a customary ‘Poornakumbha’ welcome, accompanied by vibrant Yakshagana performers and the resounded beats of ceremonial Chende percussion artists.
Accompanied by several state cabinet ministers during his visit to the sacred shrine, special ‘Rudrabhisheka’ rituals were performed at the sanctum sanctorum seeking blessings for D.K. Shivakumar. Following the religious ceremonies, he sponsored and participated in the afternoon ‘Annadana’ service, offering free meals to thousands of visiting devotees.
Later in the day, the Deputy Chief Minister visited the War Memorial located near the Circuit House in Mangaluru on Friday. He offered floral tributes to the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Speaker U.T. Khader along with several military veterans were present on the occasion.
