Bengaluru : Ahead of the Dasara festival, citizens of Karnataka are facing the prospect of another hike in milk prices. While various milk producer unions had appealed for a ₹10 per litre increase, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has reportedly favoured an ₹8 per litre hike, a proposal that has also received approval during the cabinet meeting.
Due to the election code of conduct currently in force, the final decision regarding the price hike has been left to the discretion of the Chief Minister. The revised milk prices are expected to come into effect after October 27.
