Ujire : The 44th Anniversary of the installation of the statue of Lord Bahubali (Vardhantyutsava) was celebrated with spiritual fervor at Ratnagiri in Dharmasthala. Under the guidance of D. Veerendra Heggade, the Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala and the visionary behind the installation of the monolithic statue, various traditional rituals were performed to mark this auspicious occasion.
The religious proceedings commenced on Monday morning at 9:00 AM with rituals such as Torana Muhurtha, Vimana Shuddhi, and Shodasha Kalashabhisheka. The afternoon session featured the Nandimangala ceremony at 4:00 PM. The event was graced by the presence of Shri 105 Kshullak Nirvansagar Maharaj. Hemavathi V. Heggade and D. Harshendra Kumar were also among the prominent participants in the day’s ceremonies.
The celebrations continue on Tuesday with the grand ‘Padabhisheka’ (anointment of the feet). A magnificent ‘Agrodaka’ procession is scheduled to move from the Beedu (Heggade’s residence) to Ratnagiri at 8:30 AM. Following the procession, a ceremonial bath for the idol of Lord Bahubali will be performed using 216 holy kalashas. Additionally, Shri Lalitakeerti Bhattarakha Swamiji of the Karkala Jain Math will deliver a spiritual discourse as part of the concluding ceremonies.
