Mangaluru : Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader visited the house of Abdul Rahiman, who was murdered on May 27, at Kolattamajalu near Bantwal on Wednesday, June 11.
Mr. Khader, who is also MLA of Mangaluru, consoled the family members of Rahiman.
He told them that police have been directed to take strict measures against all those involved in the murder.
Meanwhile, in a statement issued on the day Mr. Khader said that people in the society should not allow hatredness to win over humanity. Violence should not be the order of future, he said.
Mr. Khader said that some recent incidents in Dakshina Kannada, including violence and hate speeches, have bothered and pained all.
Dakshina Kannada traditionally flourished on the basis of mutual trust and unity. They should continue with the support of society without any interruptions.
Some social media posts and hate speeches are flaring up tension in society. “This is not the time to respond with hatredness. All should live in unity by respecting each other with mutual trust,” the Speaker said.
