Mangaluru: Many people are facing health problems due to the changed lifestyle and pressure of their professional life. To overcome this, they should take a break for some time in between work through simple yoga. This can help them work in a refreshing manner, said District AYUSH Officer Dr. Mohammad. Iqbal K.
He was speaking after inaugurating the information and demonstration program on leisure yoga held for journalists in the district at the Mangalore Press Club and D.K. District AYUSH Department Nagar Patrika Bhawan on Wednesday.
Yoga training is being provided to the public in preparation for the International Yoga Day to be held on June 21. Training is being organized for employees in yoga asanas and pranayama to be done while sitting at the workplace. He said that environmental cleanliness and tree planting programs have been organized along with yoga practice.
Gayatri and Sujitha, teaching doctors of Sharda Naturopathy College, gave a demonstration of relaxation yoga. Dr. Prakash A.J., Yoga and Naturopathy Medical Officer of Wenlock AYUSH Hospital, gave information about yoga and pranayama. Press Club President P.B. Harish Rai presided over the function. Dr. Sahana P., Administrative Medical Officer of Ullal Taluk AYUSH Unit, Srinivas Nayak Indaje, President of D.K. District Working Journalists Association, and General Secretary Jitendra Kundeshwar were present.
Press Club Vice President Mohammed Arif welcomed the gathering and General Secretary Ibrahim Adkasthala proposed a vote of thanks.
