Udupi: The Udupi Police on Monday successfully arrested the fifth accused in connection with the murder of AKMS bus owner, Saifuddin. The arrest marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the high-profile case.
The arrested individual has been identified as Mali Mohammed Siyan (31), a resident of Shanthi Nagar near Mission Compound, Udupi. Police apprehended Siyan at approximately 10:30 am near the MGM College bus stand.
During the arrest, law enforcement seized crucial evidence, including a Glanza car bearing the registration number KA20 MF 207, which is alleged to have been used in the commission of the crime. A mobile phone belonging to the accused was also confiscated. The arrested accused has since been produced before the court.
It should be noted that prior to this latest arrest, four other accused involved in Saifuddin’s murder had already been apprehended by the police. These four individuals are currently held in judicial custody as the investigation proceeds.
