Mangaluru : MLA of Mangaluru North Constituency, Dr. Y. Bharath Shetty, officially inaugurated the new KSRTC city bus service operating between Mangaluru and Moodujeppu on Thursday. During the event held at the Mangaluru bus stand, the MLA flagged off the vehicle in the presence of several officials, including Rajesh Shetty, Senior Divisional Control Officer of KSRTC, and various members of the Taluk Guarantee Committee. The new bus is scheduled to depart from Mangaluru at 07:05, 09:00, 11:15, 13:30, 15:10, and 17:00, traveling via Mallikatte, Nanthoor, Kudupu, Vamanjoor, and Ulayibettu. The return trips from Moodujeppu are scheduled for 08:00, 10:00, 12:15, 14:20, 16:00, and 18:00.
Addressing the gathering and KSRTC officials, Dr. Bharath Shetty emphasized the need to improve connectivity in other high-demand sectors. He specifically instructed the authorities to immediately commence the proposed bus services on the Surathkal-Farangipete and Akashabhavana-Padil routes to benefit the local commuters. Highlighting the importance of public transport for the common man, the MLA urged the department to ensure punctuality and efficient service. The inauguration was attended by DTO Kamal Kumar, DME Vinay, and members of the public who welcomed the expansion of the city transport network.
