Mangaluru : A Russian oil tanker successfully docked at the Mangaluru port on Sunday, following the recent escalation of conflicts in the Middle East. The vessel, named ‘Aqua Titan’, was originally scheduled to deliver its cargo to China. However, while navigating the South China Sea earlier last week, the massive oil tanker made a significant U-turn and redirected its course toward India, eventually reaching the shores of Mangaluru.
In a simultaneous development at the New Mangalore Port, another major cargo ship named ‘Pyxis Pioneer’ arrived today. This vessel originated from Texas, USA, carrying a substantial shipment of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). The arrival of these two international vessels highlights Mangaluru’s strategic importance in the global energy supply chain during a period of heightened geopolitical tensions.
