Mumbai : In a moment of great pride for the Kannadiga community in Mumbai, noted social worker and journalist Sridhar S. Suvarna was conferred with the prestigious “Maharashtra Ratna” award. This esteemed recognition, presented by the Maharashtra Foundation, was awarded to the Andheri East-based activist for his outstanding contributions to social service and education coaching. The ceremony took place on April 18, 2026, at the Radisson Hotel in Andheri, Mumbai, drawing several high-profile dignitaries from various fields.
The award presentation featured a distinguished guest list, with renowned Bollywood producer and director Mehul Kumar serving as the chief guest. Other prominent personalities in attendance included BJP National Spokesperson Prem Shukla, former IG of Maharashtra Shri Rathod, ACP Sanjay Patil, and noted music director Dilip Sen. The guests lauded Suvarna’s multifaceted career as an education coach and his persistent efforts in driving social change through activism.
Upon receiving the honor, an emotional Sridhar Suvarna dedicated the award to his beloved mother, the late Revathi, who passed away recently. Expressing his gratitude to the Maharashtra Foundation for the selection, he noted that such recognition serves as a motivation to continue his humanitarian work. Following the announcement, members of the Kannadiga community across Mumbai and Karnataka have extended their heartfelt congratulations, celebrating his achievement as a testament to his dedicated service.
