Dharmasthala : The nine-day Sharannavarathri celebrations at the sacred shrine of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala concluded on October 19 on the auspicious occasion of Mahanavami, under the guidance and leadership of Dharmadhikari Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade.
From October 11 to October 19, special pujas, grand rituals, Kannika Puja, and Ashtavadhana services were offered every evening at the shrine of Goddess Sri Ammanavaru. A special Chandika Havana was also performed with deep spiritual fervor on October 17 as part of the festivities.
On the final night of Mahanavami, thousands of married women (Mutthaideyaru) gathered in orderly queues to receive cloth prasadam distributed on behalf of the shrine. Devotees arriving from various parts of the district received the sacred prasadam with immense faith and reverence.
As part of the cultural celebrations, devotional and classical music performances by various acclaimed artists were organized every evening from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Pravachana Mantapa. The melodious musical renditions brought an added luster to the overall Navarathri celebrations, which successfully drew to a close alongside the religious rituals on the night of October 19.
