Mangaluru : The Karnataka Unaided PU College Management Association (KUPMA) has expressed deep regret following the National Testing Agency’s (NTA) decision to cancel the NEET UG-2026 examination and conduct a re-examination. The exam, which was held on May 3, 2026, was cancelled after it was confirmed that the question paper had been leaked. KUPMA State President Dr. Mohan Alva and State Secretary Prof. Narendra L. Nayak stated in a press release that this decision has created an atmosphere of anxiety among more than 23 lakh students who had prepared throughout the year and were awaiting their results.
In response to the security breach, KUPMA has urged the authorities to take strict legal action against the individuals or organizations responsible for leaking the question paper. The association has specifically demanded an investigation through the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to ensure that the culprits do not escape the law. They emphasized that such leaks have a serious impact on honest students who put in immense effort to clear these competitive exams.
Looking ahead, the association has called upon the Central Government to take proactive measures to prevent question paper leaks in national-level examinations. KUPMA insists on the creation of a secure environment that builds confidence among students, allowing them to face these crucial exams with high morale. The association remains committed to protecting the interests of the student community and ensuring the integrity of the examination process.
