Mangaluru: The valedictory and certificate distribution ceremony for the Life Skill Add-on Courses for the academic year 2025–26 was successfully held on May 9, 2026, at the Milagres College auditorium in Mangaluru. The event marked the culmination of various vocational and personal development modules designed to equip students with practical expertise beyond their traditional academic curriculum.
Inaugurating the programme, Fr. Vincent D’Souza, Director of CODP, emphasized the critical importance of life skills in today’s highly competitive global landscape. He noted that academic degrees alone are often insufficient; rather, it is life skill-based training that significantly shapes a student’s personality and broadens their horizons for both professional employment and entrepreneurial ventures.
During the ceremony, certificates were awarded to students who successfully completed a diverse range of courses. These included specialized training in Yoga, GST, First Aid, Photography, Beautician Training, Event Management, Dance, Craft and Embroidery, Soft Skills, and Start-up Training. Additionally, students were recognized for their achievements in Journalism, Personal Investment, Spoken English, Culinary Arts, and Computer and Tally.
Rev. Dr. Alwin Serrao, the Principal and Campus Director, presided over the function and reiterated the college’s commitment to holistic development. He remarked that such skill-oriented initiatives are vital in preparing students for real-world challenges. The event was attended by IQAC Coordinator Chethana Kumari and other faculty members. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Lecturer Jithesh and concluded with a vote of thanks by Coordinator and Lecturer Chaithra D., while Lecturer Tejaswini served as the master of ceremonies.
