Bantwal : The mysterious death of Ramananda (25), a resident of Delabettu in Barimaru village, who went missing four days ago, has taken a serious turn. His mother, Janaki, has filed a complaint with the Vamanjoor Police Station, alleging that her son’s death was not a suicide but a planned murder. She has demanded a thorough investigation to ensure justice is delivered.
Ramananda was reported missing on November 25, and a missing person complaint was lodged at the Bantwal Rural Police Station. Later that same day, his dead body was discovered near Kettikallu, Vamanjoor, in the Mangaluru taluk. The body was found lying near a tree on a hillock. Preliminary observations suggested suicide, as it appeared Ramananda had hanged himself from a tree, and the rope might have snapped, causing the body to fall. Consequently, the Vamanjoor Police initially registered the case as a suicide.
However, Ramananda’s family members grew suspicious about the circumstances of his death, firmly believing it to be a systematic murder. In her complaint, the mother, Janaki, highlighted the reason for their suspicion. She stated that Ramananda had been in a relationship with a girl from the Vamanjoor area for the past three years. Lately, however, differences had arisen between the couple.
Crucially, the mother alleges that the girl’s family members had threatened Ramananda. She has, therefore, accused the girl and her family of colluding and murdering her son. Seeking justice for her son’s unnatural death, Janaki has petitioned the police to conduct a meticulous and in-depth investigation into the matter. Following this grave complaint, the Vamanjoor Police are expected to re-examine the case from the perspective of a potential homicide.
