Dharmasthala : In a significant legal turn of events in the highly publicized Dharmasthala case, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has officially submitted its comprehensive final investigation report to the Belthangady Court. This development follows an earlier submission on November 20, 2025, where the SIT had filed a 3,923-page “false evidence” report under Section 215 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against key individuals, including C.N. Chinnayya, Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi, Girish Mattannavar, Jayanth T., Vithal Gowda, and Sujatha Bhat. However, the court had refused to accept that initial report as the final resolution and directed the probe agency to conduct further investigation and produce a definitive final report.
Responding to the court’s strict directives, the SIT officers appeared before the Additional Civil Judge of the Belthangady Court, Shashank Nagendra Bhat, on July 15 at 3:00 PM to present their completed findings. The newly submitted final report is a massive compilation totaling 7,005 pages. It seamlessly integrates the initial 3,923 pages of investigation with an additional 3,082 pages of fresh evidence and documentation gathered during the extended probe. The entire charge sheet has been systematically organized and presented to the judiciary in 12 separate files.
The crucial legal submission was carried out in the presence of senior investigative officers, including SIT Superintendent of Police (SP) C.A. Simon, Inspector Kusumadhar, Inspector Manjunath, and their supporting team members. C.N. Chinnayya, who is one of the primary accused named in the case, was also personally present in the courtroom during the submission of this exhaustive final chargesheet.
