Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee (DCC) on Saturday issued notices to K K Shahul Hameed and former mayor K Ashraf seeking explanation on why disciplinary action should not be initiated against them.
Hundreds of Congress leaders led by Shahul Hameed (president of DCC minority cell) and Ashraf had tendered resignations during a meeting convened in Shaadi Mahal.
DCC President K Harish Kumar informed that leaders including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had convinced Shahul Hameed on withdrawing their decision to submit resignation letters.
Your act of resigning before the media has embarrassed the party. The explanation on why disciplinary action should not be initiated, should be communicated within seven days after receiving the notice,” DCC president said.
