Moodbidri: Srushti Manjunath Ullagaddi, a final-year Information Science Engineering student at Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology, has secured a job as a Software Engineer at global payments technology giant Visa. Coming from a modest farming background in Hattimattur village of Haveri district, Srushti has made a mark at the international level by bagging an annual compensation package of Rs 46.33 lakh, inclusive of salary and comprehensive benefits.

Alva’s Institute places strong emphasis on high-quality internships to boost students’ professional skill sets. As part of this curriculum design, Srushti secured a prestigious internship opportunity at Visa during her sixth semester.

During her 10-week internship, she drew a monthly stipend of Rs 90,000 while successfully demonstrating her technical acumen and performance in a corporate environment. Impressed by her work during the internship period, Visa extended a full-time Software Engineer offer to her, turning the internship into a major career milestone.

The employment offer extended by Visa comes with extensive secondary benefits alongside the baseline remuneration. These include a Rs 7.50 lakh family medical insurance cover, an outpatient treatment allowance of Rs 25,000, and educational assistance of up to Rs 3 lakh. Additionally, the package encompasses complimentary gym facilities, corporate transport services, and annual health checkups.

Expressing pride over her achievement, Dr. M.
