Sullia : A tragic incident occurred in Sampaje on Saturday, where a former Gram Panchayat president collapsed and passed away while addressing an annual general meeting of a co-operative bank. The deceased has been identified as Adam Kunja Santyar (62), a former president of Chembu Gram Panchayat and former president of the Sampaje Payaswini Primary Agricultural Credit Co-operative Society.
The incident transpired during the general body meeting of the Payaswini Co-operative Bank in Sampaje. According to reports, Santyar suffered a sudden massive heart attack and collapsed on stage while delivering his speech to the gathering.
Attendees at the venue immediately rushed him to a private hospital in Sullia for emergency medical care. However, despite the best efforts of the medical staff, he breathed his last without responding to treatment. His sudden demise has plunged the members of the co-operative society and local residents into deep shock and grief.
