Karkala / Moodabidri : Former Karnataka Minister B. Ramanath Rai had a miraculous escape after his car was involved in a severe head-on collision with a private bus near Chilimbi on National Highway 169. The incident occurred while Rai was travelling from Moodabidri toward Karkala, when the oncoming private bus collided forcefully with his vehicle. The impact of the crash left the car severely crumpled, and the former minister sustained injuries to his hands and legs.
Demonstrating exemplary alertness, Hindu Jagarana Vedike leaders Jagadish and Shishir, alongside local residents, rushed to the scene immediately following the accident. Working tirelessly, they managed to rescue both Ramanath Rai and his driver, who were trapped inside the damaged vehicle, and promptly arranged for their transport to a hospital. Both victims are currently undergoing medical treatment and are reported to be out of danger.
