Puttur: The High Court has now granted conditional bail to BJP leader Srikrishna J. Rao, who was arrested in a case where he had physical relations with a young student girl on the pretext of marrying her and then refused to marry her.
A case of rape and breach of trust was registered against Krishna J. Rao at the D.K. Women’s Police Station in connection with the case where he sexually exploited his classmate girl on the pretext of marrying her and refused to marry her after she became pregnant. The victim is also a resident of Puttur Municipal Corporation and has completed her graduation from a college in Mangaluru. The police had taken the accused into custody on July 5.
The girl has already given birth to a child, and blood samples of the girl, the child and the accused Krishna J. Rao have been taken and sent for DNA testing.
