Mangaluru : In the wake of heavy rains in the last 24 hours, the Meteorological Department has declared a red alert. As a precautionary measure, the Dakshina Kannada DC has declared a holiday on July 25 for Anganwadi, primary and high school, and pre-university college students in Mangaluru taluk.
Tourists and the public have been warned not to go to low-lying areas, lakes, rivers, and seashores where there is water during this time. Fishermen have been instructed not to go into the sea.
