Mangaluru : ISKCON Mangaluru is set to host a grand three-day Sri Krishna Janmashtami festival from September 4 to 6, 2026, at its new temple in Kulai. Serving as a “living classroom of the Bhagavad Gita,” the temple emphasizes spreading Vedic wisdom through courses in 15 languages, which have already educated over 11 lakh people globally. Beyond devotional worship, the celebrations mark the inauguration of two special exhibitions showcasing the life and mission of Founder-Acharya Srila Prabhupada alongside the core philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita. Additionally, a new public fountain and an expanded Goshala will be unveiled, while construction continues on a five-storey Bhagavad Gita residential college equipped with modern learning facilities.
The three-day event will feature an array of devotional and cultural activities across the temple premises and Kala Kshetra. Highlights on Friday, September 4, include Abhisheka, Kirtans, Maha Mangala Arati at midnight, and dance dramas such as “Krishna Leela” and “Naarasimha” by Nrithyanikethana Kodavoor. Saturday, September 5, will host Srila Prabhupada’s Vyasa Puja, a Boat Festival, Bharatanatyam performances by Bharathi Suresh and team, and “Bhakti Saurabha” by Sampath Hosabettu. The final day, Sunday, September 6, features the traditional Masar Kudike Procession, bhajans by Raichur Seshagiri Das, and a Yakshagana performance by P. V. Aithal.
The temple management warmly invites devotees, families, and the general public to join the festivities and receive the blessings of Sri Sri Radha Govinda. Free prasadam will be served to all visitors throughout the three days. The temple will remain open for darshan until midnight on September 4, and up to 10:00 PM on September 5 and 6.
