Mangaluru : A comprehensive inspection of the Vande Bharat Express trial run was successfully conducted along the Sakleshpur–Subrahmanya Road railway stretch in Kadaba region. Alongside evaluating the train’s performance, senior railway officials rigorously reviewed the progress of various ongoing infrastructure upgrades and passenger amenity projects across the section.
The Sakleshpur–Subrahmanya Road rail route passes through the ecologically sensitive and challenging terrain of the Western Ghats, characterized by steep gradients, numerous tunnels, high bridges, and sharp curves. During the inspection, South Western Railway (SWR) General Manager P. Ananth personally assessed the operational parameters and safety features related to the Vande Bharat trial. He further examined the overall readiness and structural stability of the railway infrastructure along this complex corridor.
In addition, the General Manager reviewed the ongoing station redevelopment projects under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at both Sakleshpur and Subrahmanya Road stations. He gathered detailed reports from officials regarding platform enhancements, passenger circulation areas, modern amenities, and surrounding area redevelopment aimed at providing a seamless travel experience.
Directing officials to expedite the works, P. Ananth emphasized completing all ongoing initiatives within the stipulated timelines without compromising on safety, construction quality, or passenger comfort. He urged continuous monitoring of project progress and recommended seamless inter-departmental coordination to avoid operational delays.
Mysuru Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Mudit Mittal, along with senior branch officers, accompanied the General Manager during the site visit. The divisional team presented comprehensive updates regarding operational feasibility, infrastructural requirements, and the current status of modernizing the rail network in the region.
