Mangaluru : Prominent businessman and social worker Jayasheela Adyanthaya Adyar Guthu has been selected as the convener for the upcoming 20th annual public Ganeshotsava celebrations at Bunts Hostel, Mangaluru. The grand three-day religious event is scheduled to take place from September 14 to September 16, organized under the joint aegis of the Bantara Yane Nadavara Mathru Sangha, Shree Siddhivinayaka Prathishthana, and the Sarvajanika Shree Ganeshotsava Samithi.
The formal selection process took place during a preparatory meeting hosted at the Amrutothsava building in Bunts Hostel. The session was presided over by Ajith Kumar Rai Maladi, the president of the trust, and attended by key office-bearers and executive members, including Bantara Yane Nadavara Mathru Sangha General Secretary M. Karunakara Shetty, Treasurer CA Ram Mohan Rai, and Siddhivinayaka Prathishthana Trustee Krishnaprasad Rai. Other notable figures present included M. Sundara Shetty, Vasantha Shetty Jeppu, Padavu Meginamane Umesh Rai, Ullas Shetty Permude, Rathnakara Shetty Ekkar, Manish Rai Adyar, Jagadish Shetty Bijai, and Diwakara Samani Chelyaru Guthu, the convener of the Mangaluru Taluk Committee.
Bringing a wealth of leadership experience to the role, Jayasheela Adyanthaya has previously served in several distinguished capacities, including as a trustee of the Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Trust, president of the Bus Owners’ Association, member of the APMC, and vice president of the Dakshina Kannada District Congress. Additionally, he has contributed as the treasurer of the Adyar Paksikrishna Mahavishnu Temple, a member of the Mangaluru Taluk Committee of the Bantara Mathru Sangha, a member of the Adyar Gram Panchayat, and currently serves as the vice president of the Adyar Family Trust. Expressing his gratitude upon his appointment, Adyanthaya stated that the role is a divine opportunity to serve Lord Ganesha and called upon all members and the community to cooperate closely to ensure the festival’s grand success.
