Mangaluru : In a significant administrative development under the Diocese of Mangalore, Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho has been officially appointed as the Vicar Forane of the Mangalore City Deanery. Fr Coelho, who currently ministers as the Parish Priest of St Teresa’s Church in Paldane, will now take on this key leadership role to oversee the ecclesiastical district.
The Mangalore City Deanery is a prominent pastoral region consisting of 12 distinct parishes. Under Fr Coelho’s new supervision, the deanery will coordinate pastoral activities across Paldane, Kulshekar, Vamanjoor, Bajjodi, Bajal, Bondel, Permannur, Kelarai, Neermarga, Derebail, Angelore, and Shaktinagar.
Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho brings a wealth of pastoral and administrative experience to his new designation. Having served as a parish priest in various locations earlier in his vocation, he also dedicated nearly 15 years as the Director of the prestigious Father Muller Group of Institutions in Kankanady. Following his impactful tenure there, he returned to parish ministry and has been serving at St Teresa’s Church, Paldane, since 2025.
