Surathkal : The recent detention of illegal Bangladeshi nationals operating under the guise of daily wage laborers in Mukka, near Surathkal, has triggered major national security concerns. Expressing deep anxiety over the incident, Mangaluru City North MLA Dr. Y. Bharat Shetty stated that the illegal immigrants had successfully managed to procure fraudulent Aadhaar cards. He warned that this infiltration serves as a major wake-up call for state security, and failing to handle such breaches with absolute seriousness could lead to catastrophic consequences for the region in the near future. The MLA strongly urged the state government to collaborate closely with the central government to ensure the swift deportation of all illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.
Taking a sharp dig at the state leadership, Dr. Bharat Shetty criticized the Home Department’s current focus, suggesting that rather than being continuously preoccupied with countering the RSS, the administration should prioritize tracking down elements that pose a direct threat to national security. He demanded immediate and stringent legal action against the network of local agents and corrupt officials who facilitated the issuance of unauthorized Aadhaar cards and provided other logistical support to these illegal foreigners. The MLA cautioned that if the government fails to act decisively, the lives and security of the coastal region’s residents will be compromised for the sake of the Congress party’s alleged vote-bank politics.
Concluding his statement, the legislator made a firm appeal to the Ministry of Home Affairs to launch a comprehensive investigation into the matter. He emphasized the urgent need to unmask the hidden forces, syndicates, and influential individuals operating behind the scenes who are actively sponsoring and shielding these illegal immigrants. Dr. Bharat Shetty stressed that breaking this underground nexus through strict punitive measures is absolutely essential to safeguard the sovereignty and peace of the coastal belt.
