Mangaluru : Marking the Independence Day celebrations, the Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy has officially launched the ‘Swatantryotsava Tulu Pustakotsava’, offering a flat 50% discount on all books published by the academy. The special book festival was formally inaugurated on Friday at the Tulu Bhavan Library in Mangaluru with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony led by Academy Member Kumbra Durga Prasad Rai.
The inauguration event was attended by Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy President Taranath Gatti Kapikad, Registrar Poornima, Academy Members Booba Poojary Malali, Akshatha R. Shetty, and Santhosh Shetty Hiriadka, alongside former Academy Member Bennet G. Ammanna. According to an official press release issued by the academy, this special Independence Day promotional discount on Tulu literature will remain available for book lovers and the public until August 31.
