Mangaluru : Weak atmospheric wind patterns and low-moisture clouds are likely to reduce the impact of the impending depression across Coastal Karnataka and the Malnad region. A low-pressure system forming over the Central Bay of Bengal is expected to cross the landmass via Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh around September 23 before weakening. As a result, monsoon activity across Karnataka is forecasted to recede significantly after September 25.
In the coastal districts including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, and Kasaragod, a partly cloudy sky with sunny spells is anticipated, accompanied by light to moderate drizzles in pockets such as Mangaluru, Ullal, Bantwal, Puttur, and Sullia. Similar light rainfall is expected in the Malnad region covering Kodagu, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, and Shivamogga. However, inland regions are set to experience fair weather activity over the next three days. Southern and Northern interior districts, including Mandya—which recently recorded a peak rainfall of 150 mm in Pandavapura—along with Bengaluru, Mysuru, Belagavi, Kalaburagi, and Dharwad, are likely to receive moderate thundershowers until September 25.
