Mangaluru : In a landmark verdict, the Second Additional District and Sessions (Special) Court in Mangaluru sentenced four men to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment in connection with the gang rape of a minor girl. Presiding Judge Jagadeesh V.N. pronounced the judgment on Friday after hearing the detailed arguments presented during the trial.
The incident dates back to November 18, 2013, when the four accused—identified as Prajwal, Arun Amin, Aditya Salian, and Abdul Riyaz—sexually assaulted a minor girl. Following the crime, a case was registered at the Mangaluru Women’s Police Station, leading to a thorough investigation and filing of the charge sheet.
Special Public Prosecutor Jyothi Pramod represented the victim and argued the case on behalf of the prosecution during the trial. Upon evaluating the evidence and testimony, the court found all four accused guilty and handed down the 20-year rigorous imprisonment sentence.
