Mangaluru : The second day of the prestigious Karnataka State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament witnessed thrilling action at the Mangalore Table Tennis Academy. Organised by the Dakshina Kannada District Table Tennis Association, the four-day event saw top paddlers battling it out across multiple categories. In the Under-17 Girls’ Singles category, Mihika Udupa displayed exceptional form to lift the title, securing a straight-set victory over Vibha Tavakari with an 11-9, 11-9, 11-6 win in the finals. Earlier in the semi-finals, Mihika had overcome a tough challenge from Irene Anna Subhash, while Vibha booked her final spot by defeating Hiya Singh.
The Under-19 categories featured intense, high-stakes matches that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. In the U-19 Girls’ Singles finals, Himanshi Chowdhary edged past Raashi V Rao in a grueling seven-game thriller to claim the championship. Meanwhile, the U-19 Boys’ Singles title went to B.R. Gaurav, who outclassed Gaurav Gowda in a hard-fought final showdown. The tournament reached its peak in the Men’s Singles final, where Aakash K.J. emerged victorious against Sanjay Madhavan K. in an absolute nail-biter, sealing the title with a breathtaking 16-14 win in the final set.
