MLA Bharath Shetty Takes a Dig at State Government, Alleging Widespread Corruption

Mangaluru : Hitting out at the state administration, MLA Bharath Shetty stated that Karnataka is currently being run by a “bribe guarantee” government, alleging that officials are actively collecting bribes to pay commissions to ministers.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP District Office in Kodialbail on Tuesday, he pointed out that even ruling party MLAs are raising allegations against their own ministers’ involvement in corruption. He further claimed that ministers appointed under a “payment quota” are using designated officials to indulge in corrupt practices, citing recent developments as clear evidence. To substantiate his claims, Shetty highlighted a statement by State Lokayukta N.B. Veerappa, who noted that 63 out of 100 people in Karnataka are forced to pay bribes, calling it proof of rampant corruption in the state.

Several prominent leaders were present at the press meet, including Legislative Council Member Kishore Kumar, BJP District General Secretary Premananda Shetty, BJP key functionaries Sandeep Pachhanady and Gurucharan, alongside Media Convener Arun Shet.
