
Mangaluru : Captain Brijesh Chowta, the Member of Parliament for the Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency, visited Father Muller Hospital in Kankanady to check on the health of the victims injured in the recent compound wall collapse tragedy in Naguri. During his hospital visit, the MP met with Balakrishna and his children, Alka and Anusha, who survived the disaster and are currently undergoing treatment. He gathered detailed updates on their medical status from the attending doctors and offered words of courage and emotional support to the grieving family.
Reflecting on the incident, Captain Chowta described the Naguri tragedy as extremely unfortunate and deeply painful, expressing immense sorrow over the loss of three lives. He assured the survivors that honest efforts would be made to secure all necessary medical assistance and the maximum possible compensation from the district administration as quickly as possible. Emphasizing that the tragedy has left the family completely helpless and without a livelihood, the MP strongly urged the state government to immediately step in and arrange proper rehabilitation for the affected family members.
Immediately after arriving from Delhi, Captain Chowta went directly to the hospital and then straight to the disaster site in Naguri to personally assess the situation. He interacted with local residents to gather a comprehensive account of how the wall collapse occurred and extended his heartfelt condolences to the distressed families in the neighborhood.
