Belthangady: The recent death of Sudeep Rai (36), a prominent young entrepreneur from Belthangady and owner of ‘SRN Group’, has taken a dramatic turn following serious allegations by his family. Sudeep, a resident of Nellyadi who lived at his grandfather’s house in Karnodi, Laila village, had officially married Saumya Shetty from Karkala at a sub-registrar’s office just a month ago on February 17. The sudden demise of a successful businessman in the electronics and solar industry so shortly after his wedding has sent shockwaves through the community.

According to reports, Sudeep allegedly consumed poison along with his breakfast on March 17 and was subsequently rushed to a private hospital in Mangaluru for intensive care. Despite medical efforts, he passed away on March 29 without responding to treatment. Following the tragedy, the victim’s father, B. Damodara Nellyadi, addressed the media, expressing deep suspicion over the circumstances leading to his son’s death. He claimed that the tragedy might be linked to mental harassment or abetment by Sudeep’s wife, Saumya Shetty.

The father has raised several troubling questions, suggesting that the death might not be a simple case of suicide but a planned conspiracy. He specifically pointed towards the possibility of Saumya Shetty either provoking the act or being involved in the administration of the poisonous substance through his meal. Demanding a transparent and thorough investigation by the police and the government, Damodara Nellyadi has sought justice for his son, urging authorities to uncover the truth behind the suspicious behavior and motives that led to this untimely loss.
