New Delhi : Following the detention of several Congress leaders protesting near Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak issue, senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi visited Mandir Marg Police Station in New Delhi. The detention came after top leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, marched toward Lok Kalyan Marg to raise students’ concerns and demand accountability.
The protest march commenced from Rajaji Marg toward the Prime Minister’s residence, with Congress leaders demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, accountability for the question paper leak, and strict action against police high-handedness toward protesting students. Following the demonstration on Lok Kalyan Marg, Delhi Police detained Rahul Gandhi along with numerous party leaders and transported them in a bus to Chhatrasal Stadium before several were held at the Mandir Marg police station.
Learning about the detentions, Sonia Gandhi personally arrived at the Mandir Marg Police Station to meet the party leaders and inspect the situation. The demonstration highlighted the escalating political battle surrounding the NEET-UG exam paper leak scandal and the growing outrage among affected students across the country.
