Mangalore Diocese Expresses Deep Condolences and Solidarity with Nepal Flood Victims

Mangaluru : The Diocese of Mangalore has expressed deep grief over the tragic loss of lives, widespread destruction, and immense human suffering caused by devastating floods and landslides across several regions in Nepal. Most Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore, conveyed his profound condolences, sympathy, and prayerful solidarity with the affected people of Nepal. In a joint statement issued by the Diocesan Public Relations Officers, Rev. Fr. Rupesh Ashok Madtha and Mr. Roy Castelino, the Diocese shared the immense sorrow of families who have lost their loved ones, homes, and livelihoods in this natural calamity.

Emphasizing that natural disasters transcend boundaries of religion, caste, language, and nationality, the Diocese stressed that human compassion and solidarity must also know no limits. The statement reiterated that the Diocese stands firmly with all brothers and sisters in Nepal during this painful time, offering special prayers for those still missing, as well as for the safety and strength of their waiting families. Furthermore, the Diocese praised the selfless courage of rescue personnel, medical staff, security forces, volunteers, and humanitarian agencies working round the clock amidst hazardous conditions to save lives.

Calling upon all believers and well-wishers to offer special prayers, the Mangalore Diocese prayed for the eternal repose of the deceased, speedy recovery of the injured, and courage for displaced families rebuilding their lives. Reaffirming that prayer serves as an expression of universal brotherhood, the Diocese expressed its unwavering moral support and solidarity, assuring the people of Nepal that they are not alone in this hour of crisis.
